The Vision and Method of Policies on Gender Sensitive Sexuality Education for Health Promotion of Youth

Abstract

|
Objectives: This research has been conducted to analyze some of necessary contents in youth gender sensitive sexuality education to be enforced as a policy, and to suggest vision and methods to may be adopted in the future gender sensitive sexuality education.
Methods: This has been done by an analysis from references about sexual education and related data of ngo/go.
Results: Rather than teaching sexual standards to youth by referencing model developed by adult or adult oriented/required sex education, the researcher has proposed diversified sexual right education, which 1) raise an ability of youth to negotiate relationship between adults and youth, such as age, sexual (gender) standard, sexuality, etc. and 2) raise an ability of the society to recognize desires and growth of modern youth. The most appropriate education system for youth is all about how to make youth expose and practice their desire to themselves and to others. This can promote youth health through understanding the close relations among people and the power relationship.
Conclusions: This research, rather than being protective measure for youth, or being preparatory education for exchanging knowledge, information and experience on standard means of conducting sexual relationship or sexual activities, proposes a transfer to sexual citizenship that promotes establishment of new relationships. Beyond the idea of personal sexual rights, the sexual citizenship education system requires systematic support and political discussion for recognizing sexual conducts, identity, relationship. This is to recognize the reality and the power of youth for healthy life.
